# Consent on getting user profile information

User consent is required in order for the LINE Official Account to be able to access user profile information.

# Users of LINE for iOS or LINE for Android

Users of LINE for iOS or LINE for Android consent to their profile information being obtained when they begin using LINE.

For example, this applies to users who:

  • Created a LINE account with LINE for iOS or LINE for Android and are currently using the account
  • Originally created a LINE account with LINE for PC, but are using that account on LINE for iOS or LINE for Android

# Users who aren't using LINE for iOS or LINE for Android

Users who aren't using LINE for iOS or LINE for Android can't consent to their profile information being obtained. They can still add the LINE Official Account as a friend or invite it to a chat.

For example, this applies to users who:

  • Created a LINE account with LINE for PC and have since only been using LINE for PC
Note

Following the version upgrade in April 2020, LINE for PC no longer has the feature of creating of new accounts. Therefore, you can't create a new account on LINE for PC.

If the user hasn't consented to their profile information being obtained, the user's profile information won't be included in the responses to these API requests and webhook event objects:
