# Account relationships

You need a developer account to use the LINE Developers Console. In addition, a developer account is always linked to a Business ID on a one-to-one basis. When you first log in to the LINE Developers Console and create a developer account, your Business ID and developer account will be automatically linked.

Note on linking your developer account to your Business ID
  • If you delete the Business ID linked with your developer account, you will no longer be able to log in to your developer account
  • A Business ID linked with a developer account can't be changed later

A developer account and a LINE account are linked through a Business ID. When you link your LINE account to your Business ID that is linked to your developer account, you can link your LINE account to your developer account. For more information on how to link accounts, see Link your Business ID with your LINE account.

The relationship between developer accounts, Business IDs, and LINE accounts is as follows:

Developer account Business ID LINE account
Developer account One-to-one link (*) Linked via Business ID (one-to-one)
Business ID One-to-one link (*) Can be linked one-to-one
LINE account Linked via Business ID (one-to-one) Can be linked one-to-one

* When you create a developer account, your Business ID will automatically be linked to your developer account.

About the email address for each account

The name and email address registered for your developer account, Business ID, and LINE account are managed separately. Therefore, the email addresses registered to each account may be different.

# Account relationships when creating a new Business ID

When you first log in to the LINE Developers Console and create a new Business ID, the linking behavior of your LINE account will vary depending on whether you use your LINE account or a business account (email address and password) to create the Business ID. The relationship between the account type used and the linkage between the developer account and your LINE account is as follows:

Account type LINE account linked to developer account
LINE account LINE account used to create your Business ID
Business account
(email address and password)
None (*)

* You can link a LINE account to your Business ID created with a business account at any time. For more information, see Link your Business ID with your LINE account.
